INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY – SATURDAY 2nd MARCH 2024In recognition of International Women’s Day, the Scottish Women’s Convention (SWC) and the Scottish Parliament celebrated Scottish Women Inspiring Inclusion through Human Rights.The event was chaired by Presiding Officer, Rt Hon. Alison Johnstone MSP. Contributions came from speakers including Shona Robison MSP, Deputy First Minister of Scotland and Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Julia Mattes and Maisi De Pellette, two school pupils from Our Lady’s High School in Cumbernauld; Mary Osie-Oppong, Secondary School Teacher and qualified Chartered Teacher and Chair of African Caribbean Women’s Association (ACWA) Glasgow; Jesimiel Rivas, a school pupil from Drumchapel High School, and entertainment journalist and presenter, Laura Boyd.
